About Us

Company Background

Slanj was founded in 1996 by Brian Halley, with the aim of providing a range of traditional Scottish clothing to consumers both regionally and on a global scale. Since its inception, Slanj has flourished into one of the most successful companies in the industry. The success of the company has ensured that Slanj has become the chosen provider of traditional Scottish clothing for many high profile clients and has consistently worked alongside an array of prestigious organisations within Scotland, including: golf clubs, charitable organisations, political parties & media outlets.

Since it’s conception in 1996, brothers Brian and Craig Halley have steadily built up a formidable luxury Scottish clothing brand. Slanj started in the tailoring business with tartan suits for all formal and fun occasions before going on to specialise in traditional and contemporary highlandwear, tartan breeks and innovative Scottish t-shirts.

Slanj is a very different business model nowadays and their friendly, experienced and knowledgeable staff are equally comfortable taking orders for kilts, kilt hire and tartan trousers which they make in their Glasgow city centre superstore.

Whether you wish a quirky Scottish t shirt, a classic wedding outfit or a stunning Harris Tweed messenger bag you are sure to find something in their Glasgow store which is spread over 3 floor levels or Edinburgh Slanj which is situated just off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh’s Old town.

If you wish a bespoke tartan or a product designed and made or if you have any unusual requests for tartan products, we have had a few, please contact Brian on corporate@slanj.com With almost 20 years in the business Brian and Craig’s wholesale business, Clan Scotland will also be happy to handle any corporate business requirements.
